About the Item

This is a large low table made from old Japanese wood. The tabletop is a very large, heavy board, and over the years, its surface has developed a natural, primitive texture. While its purpose is unknown, it is thought to have been used for cutting cloth and other work, and traces of this work remain, making it stand out. The exact species of wood used for the tabletop is unknown, but it is thought to be a type of hardwood, probably katsura. The various colors have blended over time, expressing the beauty of natural change. There are still traces of cut-off parts of the tabletop, but perhaps because so much time has passed since they were cut, they appear to have blended in naturally. The base is made of cedar, and the tabletop and base were originally used as a set. It can be used as a sofa table or display stand. Its simple shape and naturally shaped, primitive texture add a three-dimensional effect to the space, creating a serene and beautiful silhouette. Weight: 37.6 kg (top 32.2 kg, base 5.4 kg) Dimensions Top: 201 cm W x 79 cm D x 4.5 cm H Base: 63.5 cm W x 24.5 cm D x 23.5 cm H
