1960s Coffee Table made of Oak and Norwegian Sell Pillarguri Slate
About the Item
Beautiful robust and heavy coffee table with a warm and strong appearance. The table is made of a solid oak base with a Sell Pillarguri slate top. This top is handmade, where the slate is placed in a metal frame and secured in concrete.
The table is most probably made in the Netherlands around the 1960s, and is in very good condition with just some wear and tear corresponding with age and use. No damage whatsoever on the slate.
Note: Sell Pillarguri slate is quarried in the Norwegian village Otta that lays near the river Sell. It contains many iron-containing minerals that oxidize in the air.
