About the Item

A classic French Louis XVI style mahogany guéridon bouillotte game table from the first half of the 20th century. Born in France, circa 1930s/1940s, hand-crafted solid mahogany construction, having a nicely patinated pierced brass gallery enclosing the round marble top, over an apron fitted with two dovetailed drawers and two pull-out slides with inset gilt tooled leather surfaces, rising on tapered fluted legs, terminating in brass-capped feet. Versatile; as warm and attractive as it is functional, having the ideal size and proportions for a variety of different uses, including as a coffee table, accent table, chair side or sofa end table, bedside nightstand, cocktail drinks stand or lamp table. Classic refined styling allow this table to compliment many of today's most popular contemporary interior styles, including sophisticated traditional, blended transitional, luxurious Art Deco, Hollywood Regency glam, modern neo-industrial, and timeless Hamptons coastal, to name just a few!
