Laurel Fyfe Sculptural Coffee Table Black Glass Handkerchief Art Postmodern 1990
About the Item
A monumental and rare black glass coffee table, with handkerchief-shaped base and irregular organic shape glass top. Imported from the USA to London, originally for an estate in Hyde Park. This piece was produced prior to 1992, when Fyfe owned Lumen Essence, Inc (L.E.I.) and she used very little black glass. At the time, she went by the name Laurel Clark. Signed L.E.I. #13 on the base, and authenticated by the late designer's employees at Fox Fire Glass LLC.
We have previously seen the clear glass designs which are the common mass production designs of the designer but we have never seen the black glass which is the rarest and as we have been told from it would be a handful of them if not the only one.
This is an amazing piece and it would work in any big space with a curved sofa and an organic interior or something more daring.
