About the Item

Low modernist serpentine glass coffee or cocktail table with two mirrored twin star-shaped bases. This fabulous cocktail table is an excellent example of early 20th century design. The glass stop is extremely heavy and thick and can be described as kidney-shaped or serpentine shape. Edges are rounded and smooth. The glass tabletop sits on top of two twin faceted star-shaped mirrored pedestal table bases. The geometric bases are made from wood and shaped into an 8 point star. Slices of mirrors are applied vertically to each side of the star bases. This dimensional modern piece belonged to Yvonne Staples, of the Staples Sisters. This group once graced the popular TV show Soul Train. We envision this table being the focal point at one of Yvonne’s parties. Surrounded by her family and friends, we imagine many lively conversations were had in the company of this beauty. The perfect way to own a piece of history. Mid Century Modern plinth base modern white lacquered coffee table with chrome plinth base and glass top. This piece is by Directional and attributed to Paul Evans circa 1970. This beautiful mid-century cocktail table is a statement piece for any living room. In form, this piece is square, and tapers down to its chrome plinth base. Painted in a white / creamy hue, on the outside and top, it also features inset glass. A great option for use during cocktails or drinks. Glass is insert to about 2” – 3” from the edge of the top. We've seen similar coffee tables featured in Elle Decor and House Beautiful. A wonderful piece that can stand the test of time. Directional furniture is extremely well made and will be a purchase that can stand the test of time. The overall color of this coffee table/cocktail table is a creamy white color. A great staple piece for any living room. Should colors change in a design plan, this piece can hold its own and always be a classic incorporated with other colors. Wonderful vintage condition with some chips to lacquer around the sides, as well as under the glass top. Some signs of wear to the chrome plinth base such as light scratching and discoloration. A rustic early American iron and glass accent table. This table was taken from the estate of an Oklahoma oilman in Tulsa Oklahoma. His estate is located next door to the Belvedere House in Downtown Tulsa. The home in itself is a historical home. We were very excited to get ahold of a piece that was part of the original interior. The rectangular table is made up of distressed iron legs, and glass at the top. Tables like this were often created by ranch hands living on the properties. It is unknown if this was created in this manner, or if it was a purchase from a shop. Either way, it is a wonderful piece that was very well made.
