About the Item

A Chinese Qing Dynasty period elm wood coffee table from the 19th century with dragon-carved apron, humpback stretchers and angled spandrels. Created in China during the Qing Dynasty period in the 19th century, this elm wood coffee table features a square top sitting above an elegant apron carved with stylized dragon and auspicious scrolling cloud motifs in the corners. An ornate humpback stretcher with delicate scrolling accents connects the four straight legs to one another on all sides. Upon closer inspection, one will discover angled spandrels linking the legs to the top's underside. The table boasts a warm brown patina complimenting the lines and décor beautifully. We review all of our pieces and address issues we may find before they leave for your home; however, this is an antique piece, has had repairs, and as such, it will keep its character and some imperfections, which is the quintessence of antique and vintage furniture. A Chinese Qing Dynasty period coffee table from the 19th century, with carved apron and scrolling feet. Created in China during the Qing Dynasty period, this low table, which could nowadays be used as a coffee table (the Chinese didn't used coffee tables in the 19th century), features a rectangular top with central board, sitting above a beautifully carved apron. This apron is adorned with a central calligraphic motif surrounded by scrolls, animals, foliage and geometric accents. Raised on four straight legs with scrolling feet, the table boasts a dark patina.
