Qing Dynasty Red Lacquer Low Kang Coffee Table with Drawers and Horse Hoof Feet

About the Item

A Chinese Qing Dynasty period red lacquered low kang coffee table from the 19th century, with two front drawers and round brass pulls. Created in China during the Qing Dynasty, this low kang coffee table features a rectangular top sitting above two drawers fitted with brass ring pulls. The term kang comes from a platform destined to receive people atop, typically found in Northern China and made of hollow brick, allowing to burn fuel underneath to provide some heat. Furniture around had to be low. Raised on four legs with horse hoof extremities, this 19th century Qing Dynasty red lacquered low kang coffee table will bring a pop of color to any living room or covered patio!
