Solid Cast Brass, Shou Sugi Ban Wood Cant & Crystal Jeweled Sherpa Coffee Table
About the Item
The Sherpa coffee table is designed by Egg Designs and manufactured in South Africa. This high end, contemporary and bespoke coffee table is evidence of Egg's unique and exploratory approach to materials.
The base is a solid French Oak cant that has been finished in the ancient Japanese technique of Shou Sugi Ban which gives it a beautiful, black textured finish that has a natural sheen. The French oak allows for natural cracking which imbues it with a great deal of character.
The top is finished with a sand cast solid brass plate, the sand casting technique gives the top a unique slightly pitted, handmade and textured appearance.
The top is connected to the 2 part base with unique solid brass cabochon which is set with an amethyst crystal.
