About the Item

This original side table was inspired by the dynamism of plotlines, with events running chronologically yet intertwining atemporally within the pages of a novel. This weft of stories is executed through a striking combination of walnut, ash, and mahogany, the top made of two interlocking halves boasting an appealing geometric design. Four slender legs support the top, completing the design. Features Coffee table with visible butterfly joint, top inlaid in canaletto walnut, mahogany, ash. Size: 48X48X48H Designer: Gumdesign Bespoke Customization is our specialty. We are open to the design and creation of fully customized pieces. Please get in touch with us for any custom inquiries. Designer - Gumdesign Gabriele Pardi, a Tuscan architect born in 1966, and Laura Fiaschi, a designer and graphic designer from Carrara, opened their studio GUMDESIGN in Viareggio in 1999. They deal with architecture, industrial product design, graphics and art direction for companies and events. Over the years they have received numerous international prizes in architecture, design and graphics competitions, and their projects are in the permanent collections of numerous museums, including: the Triennale in Milan, the Glass Museum in Shanghai and the MoMa in San Francisco. From 2009 to 2016, they have been included four times in the ADI Design Index selection of the Compasso d'Oro, in the sections of "Business Research", "Graphics" and "Design". One of their most prominent projects is The Stone House: a travelling exhibition created in 2014 that has received numerous awards and recognitions, including the 2014 Best Communicator Award for design and the 2019 Woman of Marble Award received at Marmomac. The aim is to recover the primordial culture of home living, using stone as the symbolic element of departure for this rediscovery. The Company identity - Hebanon Fratelli Basile - 1830 42 are the wooden species kept in our vault of centuries-old veneers, 5 of which are endangered; 2 are the result of anomalies: woods tell as much about humanity as people do. In Hebanon Fratelli Basile 1830 we operate with respect for man and the environment, using only non-toxic products for human health, formaldehyde free, wood with forest certifications and recovering processing waste as a source of complementary energy. All products are 100% certified Designed and manufactured in Italy, branded and identified by an identification number and holographic mark that guarantee their uniqueness and originality in the world. Language Our language stems from our cultural heritage coming from the Kingdom of the two Sicilies and from cabinetmaking of which we have internalized the discipline, technique and vision. - The carvings: they become elements that sculpt the air and dictate the rhythm of space; a game of seduction between opposites: hot and cold, masculine and feminine, natural and precious materials, pure and primary shapes alternating with organic forms of nature. - The inlays: they lose the only decorative value, acquiring in themselves the narrative value of the object; perspectives, optical illusions, sometimes provocative, sometimes sensual, sometimes ethereal and elusive, natural materials and textures that anthropomorphize nature. Prices do not include shipping from Italy.

Yoko collection designed by Serena Confalo- nieri for Medulum consists of 3 wooden coffee tables. The pieces are characterized by the repetition of trian- gular elements, which visually refer to the Japanese art of origami. This recourse to geometric repetition is further high- lighted through the creation of an embossed linear texture which, on the surface, generates further ge- ometries, while, on the legs, it leads to different front and back of the surface, just like a sheet of paper.
