About the Item
A French pedestal table with a turned column screw stem & square top & base, reminiscent of Charles Dudouyt designs. The table form most probably dates from the early 20th Century with the turned screw column from a much earlier date and most probably used as part of a wine press.
Befitting of interiors that blend pieces of different styles and ages and also those that harness the stripped-back, primitive, rustic, wabi-sabi aesthetic that is so on trend currently.
Condition: The set has been sympathetically & professionally restored and as a result is in great order. The items naturally show some signs of wear commensurate with age and overall some endearing quirks of a set this age
and type. The turned stem will show more age related characteristics, such as aging splits and imperfections due to how old it is. To note, the table top has had some filling during restoration which has been done very well, you can see this faint traces of this in the photos and is the reason we've priced so aggressively but does not detract.
