About the Item

XXth Century, Pair of Roman Coffee Tables with Lacquered Wood Top Measurements: single coffee table: cm W 71,5 x D 51,5 x H 45 assembled from the short side: cm 134 x 51,5 assembled from the long side: cm 103 x 71.5 The pair of tables was made around the fifties of the twentieth century. The structure is in wrought iron with the four legs connected at the top and bottom by transoms and square joints that reflect the design of the feet. The top, rectangular in shape, is in lacquered wood in faux marble. The decoration simulates a floor in clerks of the finest marble and semi-precious stone samples, or different colors, in a style characteristic of the Roman area. The tables, very decorative, are characterized by the particular versatility of use. They can be placed in any furnishing context, exhibited in pairs or individually. They can also be placed side by side, becoming a single surface. If you put the long side in contact, it forms a table with an almost quadrangular appearance, suitable for the center of a room, in front of the sofas. Approaching instead the short sides, you create a long support surface, perfect if approached for example to a wall, behind a sofa or in places where you need a narrow and elongated support surface. The trompe l'oeil faux marble lacquered top gives more lightness to the tables, making them easier to handle and therefore also movable according to the need. For their use, it is advisable to equip them with a glass top to protect the lacquering of the top.

18th Century, Pair of Italian Neoclassical Lacquered and Giltwood Consoles
Located in IT
18th century, pair of Italian neoclassical lacquered and giltwood consoles This pair of consoles was made in the second half of the 18th century in the neoclassical era, in Naples (Italy) The carved and lacquered wooden consoles are composed of two half-moon tops lacquered with fake jasper. The band below the floor is sculpted in the ways of Classic grooved friezes, lacquered with light color and gold. The four legs are also grooved lacquered and golden and end in quadrangular feet. These consoles are very elegant and refined for the simplicity of their line and color. Consoles with two shelves are also quite rare. These allow greater flexibility in their use: in fact, in the lower shelf it is possible to expose, for example, vases with flowers, porcelain, books or other decorative objects in addition to what is placed above or offend the ability to lighten the top floor from too many objects. For their small size and especially for the particular depth of the floors, very narrow, and for the distinctly decorative character, these consoles are easily inserted in any environment. They are in fact perfect in the entrances or in the corridors, in a living room or a study, exposed in pairs or individually. The light color also makes them pleasant next to antique and modern furniture.
