1720s Venetian Early Rococo Period Giltwood Console Table with Red Marble Top

About the Item

An Venetian early 18th century Rococo period carved giltwood console table with red variegated marble top and painted accents. This Italian console table features a rectangular variegated marble top, sitting above a stunning carved giltwood base, accented with delicate grey painted highlights. Born during the early years of the 18th century, this console table embodies the Venetian grace exhibited during the very early stages of the Rococo period during the Age of Enlightenment. Raised on two elegant cabriole legs adorned with an abundance of rocailles motifs, the console table needs to be connected to a wall. The soft grey painted background allows the carved giltwood motifs to stand out beautifully. A voluted eye-catching cross-stretcher, adorned with various shells, acanthus leaves and cornucopia-reminiscent motifs connects the legs to one another. This console rests on scrolled feet, adorned with discreet grotesques. The result is simply majestic! With its graceful silhouette and beautiful patina, this Italian 1720s Venetian console table with marble top will create a spectacular focal point in any home, whether placed in a living room or foyer.
