1725 Venezia Italy Giltwood Engraved Console with Onyx Marble Top
About the Item
This is an exquisite gilded and carved console, with the top made in onyx marble. The front and side parts are carved with scrolls that create a delicate carving effects. The onyx top and the walnut base, hail from Mid- 18th Century, Venezia, Italy. The top marble has shades of amber and it is enhanced by the combination with the gilding of the wood.
This console is the result of the high level of craftsmanship of the master Venetian cabinetmakers achieved at the time of the maximum splendor of Venice, its Golden Age. Its carefully considered proportions, refined carvings, and premium materials culminate in a design that expresses sophistication and grace.
This piece is coming out from the property of noble Marcello family in Venezia
