About the Item

18th Century French Regence Marble Top Console is the perfect way to add timeless elegance to your entryway, hall or any niche! Sculpted from old-growth oak and left in a natural wood finish, it features lavishly carved shell and foliate designs pierce-carved through the contoured aprons above and below, with boldly scrolled cabriole legs. Note the incredible detail attained by the sculptor especially in the shell designs which are substantially different yet completely compatible. There's even a crosshatch design on the remainder of the apron facade that is meticulously executed. Topped with luxuriously veined marble that has been carefully hand-contoured and beveled to follow the graceful architecture, it is designed to produce an elegant accent to your casual decor. The sheer natural beauty and patina of the wood contrasts perfectly with the rich veining of the hand-beveled marble! Circa 1790s Measures 32.5H x 36W x 20D

19th Century French Louis XVI marble top painted console is the ideal choice to create a stunning entryway, adorn a stairway landing, or create visual interest in a hallway. Classical Greek architecture is critical to the design, with elegantly contoured legs culminating in lotus blossom feet. Where the legs join to the apron appear a brace of rectilinear rosettes, and centered between the legs is a panel with drapery motif. The apron sections between these elements are adorned with intricately detailed Greek coin overlay, and the entire structure is enhanced by the patinaed painted finish highlighted with gold colored trim. 18th Century French Neoclassic Marble Top Console w/Urn Finial at Underside
Located in Atlanta, GA
A French period Neoclassical marble-top console table, with beautifully carved urn finial accent at underside, from the 18th century. This antique table from France features an oblong-demi shaped white marble top (with shallow squared stepped out accents above each leg) which rests upon a nicely-carved apron and flower head medallions at each knee. The table is presented upon four fluted and tapering cylindrical legs, with acanthus leaf wrapped carvings just beneath their upper perimeters, that terminate into peg style, floral carved feet. The legs are braced with a pair of carved cross-stretcher bars, which are adorn at their intersecting tops with a neoclassical-carved urn finial with floral garlands gently cascading out of each side. The table has been scraped to its original color. The marble top is older but not original. Note that some alterations have been made to the front feet for leveling purposes. Also the marble has a faint stain (see images for further details). We recommend having this piece attached to the wall by a professional contractor, to ensure stability and security because there is a slight wobble. This 18th century Neoclassical French console...
