18th Century Louis XVI Carved and Painted Consoles with Marble Top
About the Item
Handmade in the 18th century, this pair of antiques consoles is topped with a beautiful piece of gray marble with brown undertones and veins of white running through them. The consoles are made to be placed against a wall, with carved decorations along the other three sides. The front of each console has two cherub's faces with garland and tassels looking out. One console repeats the cherub's faces on the two sides, and the other has only the draped garland repeated. Each leg is carved with column-like designs, and all the wood on each console is hand painted.
