18th Century Swedish Gustavian Arched Console Table

About the Item

This Gustavian-period Swedish console table features a distinctive arched design that reflects the elegant yet understated style of the era. Crafted from solid wood, the table has its original finish, a timeworn white and pale blue paint with a naturally distressed patina highlighting its age and authenticity. The tabletop has a rustic surface, showcasing the character of the wood beneath. The front of the table is fitted with four small drawers, each adorned with simple wooden knobs, providing both functionality and visual balance. The gracefully arched base adds a sense of lightness to the otherwise robust construction, making it an ideal piece for hallways or living spaces. This table beautifully embodies the Gustavian aesthetic of restrained elegance and practicality. Found in Sweden, 18th century. Hand-crafted from solid wood using dovetail joinery. Scratches, nicks, and stains are consistent with age and use. The table has been repaired over the years (as found) to provide stability. The table is sturdy and structurally sound.
