19th C. British Neoclassical Console Table for Restoration
About the Item
A finely constructed and elegant pier table with white marble top. The figured wood frieze with two flush drawers flanking a center panel with a bronze mount with scrolls and winged griffins. The ends with bronze palmettes. Raised on heavy mahogany square tapering legs with carved and gilt wood leafy details on the tops on the front and sides. The base with figured wood banded mahogany panels, the mirrored back with mahogany pier supports. The carved skirt with gilt front edge. Makers stamp on the back.

Condition: Please see detail photos. Restoration recommended. There are various signs of age including chips along marble edges with a few spot repairs, scrapes to the frieze molding, the feet, base front and edges, the center frieze bronze mount with broken top left scroll, large losses to the mirror silver, lacking a key. Despite the condition, the Table retains an elegant and refined presentation.
