19th Century French Walnut Gothic Pedestal, Étagère End Table

About the Item

19th century French walnut Gothic Pedestal ~ étagère end table is an unusual specialty piece that doesn't come around very often! handcrafted from sumptuous French walnut, it features three surfaces~ the top under which lies an apron surround fitted with a drawer accessed with a cast brass bale pull. Below that is an arched colonnade effect with detailed carvings providing a framework and tying into the columns that lead the eye down to the lower tier, also framed with finely carved archwork with a geometric pattern on the lower apron. The architecture was inspired by the flying buttresses of the timeless Gothic castles and cathedrals of France, circa 1870s Measures: 40 H x 21.5 W x 15 D.
