1. Product description: The “Moai” console table is made of polished brass cast and its top is a bronze tempered glass piece. This console table inspired by the colossal stone statues located on the Easter Island goes through a process known for thousands of years widely used in sculptures, especially brass, bronze and precious metal works, called smelting. After this process, the brass is polished by hand for hours until its shine is in perfect condition and protected with an anti-stain varnish for those high-end interior design projects in need for a unique art piece full of meaning. Bessa prides itself on creating handmade functional art furniture built to order by highly skilled Portuguese artisans. 2. Inspiration: Limited edition 1/50 The Moai, also known as the Great Heads or the Naoki, are 887 colossal statues in stone located on Easter Island. These beautiful creations are wrapped in mystery and there are several theories around their existence. For some, the Moai were an homage to the ancestors and the gods. For others, especially the Moai that have "hats" (Pukao), served as lightning rods. What is certain is that the incidence of lightning on the island is high, and at night or on days of low light, the Moai are illuminated when charged with lightning energy. The Moai are one of the most mysterious and striking cultural manifestations and served as inspiration for Bessa to create a limited edition piece. A creation that preserves the mysterious stories and unique memories of a civilization that we can only imagine. 3. Product Dimensions: W 165cm (64.97") H 85cm (33.47") D 40cm (15.75") 4. Materials: Hand polished brass and anti-stain varnish, bronze tempered glass. Note: All Bessa´s pieces can be customized upon request. 5. Product Style: Modern and contemporary. 6. Installation/ cleaning and care: Easy to install. To assemble the console table, it is only necessary to place the glass top on the brass base. Easy to clean. The Brass is cleaned with a flannel or soft cloth only and the glass is cleaned with a usual glass cleaning product (when cleaning the glass avoid spraying product directly on the brass).
