Antique English Demi-Console Table w/Lion-Carved Legs
About the Item
An English beautifully-carved wood demi-lune table from the 19th century. This antique console table from England features a half-moon shaped top which overhands and rests upon an apron adorn in bands of foliage-carved trim with Greek key trim beneath. The four exquisitely carved legs, have lion's heads at their tops, with acanthus wrapped volutes which become squared legs that tapper gently towards their square-pad feet with leaf-carved wraps. This 19th century English "lion's head" demi console would be an exceptionally handsome addition to an entry foyer, living room, or study.

French Antique Giltwood & Marble Top Demi-console- a Space Solving Petite Size!

A French small-sized carved and gilt wood wall console, with marble top and finial accent, from the early 20th century. This table from France features a petite demi-shaped (half moon) marble top with squared step-out style corners flanking its front facade, which rests upon an apron carved with an entwined circular pattern framed within a beaded trim, and flower-head carved plaques above each knee. This table is presented upon a pair of rounded and fluted legs, that are braced with a concave-shaped carved stretcher bar, which is adorn at a center with a neoclassical-inspired three dimensional finial. Flower-head carved accents, set within squared frames, further embellish the legs just above their peg style feet. The black marble top with grey veining is a nice compliment against the gilded finish. The top is also removable for ease of transport and installation. This antique table from Spain features a rectangular-shaped top which is comprised of a single board, raised upon a pair of scrolling lyre-legs with carved tassels adorning their outer edges and swirling medallion accents at their tops and sides of each volute foot. Elegant forged-iron stretchers fill the space beneath the table with an arch-shaped design, and disc accents. The walnut wood is warm and rich, with lovely patina and age, reflective of it's history.
