This is an antique hall table. A Scottish, oak side table with Gothic revival taste, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1880. Attractive example of fine 19th century Scottish furniture Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order Select Scottish oak shows fine grain interest and wisps of medullary rays Deep caramel hues beam beneath the wax polish finish Prescribes to the popular Gothic Revival taste, favoured in period Generously sized top accentuated with a scroll and leaf carved border Broad, square section shoulders enclose a distinctive fluted fascia Front fascia opens to reveal a useful, full width drawer Striking barley twist legs to each corner with turned collar motif Each united with a broad barley twist H stretcher rail Standing upon superb, hairy ball and claw feet with a nicely defined finish This is a superb antique hall table with high visual appeal.
