About the Item

Bowl Console Table by Wentz Dimensions: D 45 x W 165 x H 80 cm Materials: Steel, Ceramic, Stainless Steel. Coffee table with steel structure and top with textured electrostatic painting. Ceramic “Bowl” fixed to the top with a machined stainless steel pin. Feet with plastic tips to avoid direct metal contact with the floor. Like other products in the collection, The Bowl table explores the sensation of movement in a static object. The ceramic bowl appears to act on the thin metal top, which is curved, as if gravity were part of the design. Not only is the shape reduced to the essential minimum, but it suggests an environment with more free space, since the top has the minimum depth necessary to support everyday objects — such as glasses, plates and books. — and the ceramic bowl offers a solution for objects that are usually scattered on coffee tables, leaving the environment even cleaner and lighter. WENTZ SILENT AND NATURAL LIVING DESIGNED IN BRAZIL Brazilian brand of furniture, lighting and accessories design. We live in silence, contemplating the environments, through pieces that welcome well-being. We seek to give naturalness to living, with harmonic and sensorial simplicities. We express Brazilian uniqueness through our lines, highlighting local materials and technologies. With a contemporary tropical aesthetic, designer Guilherme Wentz's creations reflect the contemplative personality of their creator, connected to nature and obsessed with design. His designs present a new look at living, where each piece conveys a perfect balance between simplicity and functionality. 1987 — Guilherme Wentz is born on July 17, in the city of Caxias do Sul, in Rio Grande do Sul, where he spent his entire youth. 2008 — Guilherme drops out of the Business Administration course to start a new creative life studying Product Design. 2010 — Begins his career as a designer at the Riva objects brand, where he works for two years. 2012 — Recently graduated, receives the IDEA Brasil award for his first product on the market, the Officer desk, developed for the São Paulo brand Decameron. 2013 — Receives the iF Design Award for his second signed project, the K for Riva Collection, sets up his studio and starts designing for different brands of furniture, lamps and objects. 2014 — Moves the studio to São Paulo, takes on the Style Directorship of the Decameron and Carbono brands and is invited to a project commissioned by the São Paulo Museum of Modern Art. 2016 — Joins businessman Rafael Gehrke to launch his first independent collection, called "Capítulo 1", which in its first year was already available in some of the main designer stores in Brazil and the United States. In the same year he was named "Rising Talent" by Maison & Objet Americas and received the Museu da Casa Brasileira and iF Design Awards, both for Luminária UM, developed for Lumini. 2017 — Named "Rising Talent" at the Casa Vogue Awards. One of his projects, the Post-Tropical Vase , is acquired for the permanent collection of the Lisbon Design and Fashion Museum. 2018 — Wentz is named by the New York Times T Magazine as one of the "6 Rising Studios of the Americas." 2019 — The WENTZ brand is established for the production and distribution of independent collections and the launch takes place during New York Design Week. In August, the brand's first store opens in São Paulo.

Yugen Console by Matthieu Gicquel

Yugen Console by Matthieu Gicquel Dimensions: D 50 x W 230 x H 80 cm. Materials: Optical glass and patinated metal. Weight: 140 kg. Each piece is numbered. Please contact us. Praise for the moment Light shines through the glass. Details are revealed one by one: here a light bubble rises, there a changing reflection. To seek to understand Matthieu Gicquel’s glass art - because what we’re really talking about here is touching the senses of the material, of the work - is first and foremost to follow the path mapped out by Junichiro Tanizaki in In Praise of Shadows. For him, «[...] we forget what is invisible to us, we regard as non-existent what cannot be seen»; yet the creator’s entire will lies in this need to reveal to us what seems absent, to give substance to the mystery from a material so common that we no longer pay attention to it. Two words-concepts of Japanese origin-form the original basis of Matthieu Gicquel’s artistic philosophy: wabi-sabi and Yûgen. The first is the powerful idea that beauty is to be found in the banal, the everyday, the vile. To the European eye, at first glance, it seems hard to grasp: what beauty is there in a chipped bowl...
