About the Item
The Monolith console table is a statement piece from Duffy London, impressing with it's mind-boggling design.
A glass table balances miraculously on top of a series of toppling monoliths, appearing to defy the laws of physics and remaining in a permanent state of impending collapse.
The monolithic design takes its inspiration from The Sentinel, a book by Arthur C. Clarke and inspration for the film 2001: A Space Odyssey, directed by Stanley Kubrick.
The Monolith Console is available in a number of finishes including matte black or brushed steel and bespoke powder-coated steel.
This piece is part of the Megalith collection by Duffy London.

Duffy London Ltd
Ideas-based modern furniture and collectible design from Christopher Duffy and British design studio Duffy London. Combining art and function, and playing with the concepts of gravity, geography, and optical illusion. We work with a talented team of designers, artisans, and manufacturers to turn these concepts into high-quality pieces of statement furniture and sculpture. Works are divided into six main collections - Abyss, Solo, Megalith, Up! Balloon, Swing, and Meeting Pod. Chris and the studio are constantly innovating and releasing new modern furniture designs Works have featured at Art Basel, Art Miami and 100% Design London. In 2016 Duffy London was a partner for the PAD London 20th Century Design & Decorative Arts Fair. In 2019, a limited edition of the Abyss Coffee Table was acquired by the Musée des Arts Décoratifs at The Louvre in Paris to become part of the permanent National collection. Everything we do is handmade to order and bespoke by skilled craftspeople here in the UK. We only use wood from sustainably managed forests and other eco-friendly building materials and mediums. Chris founded Duffy London in 2002.
