About the Item

1. Quick view Monroe console table is made in polished brass cast and its top in a high-end black Spanish marble. It is an amazing handmade sculptural art piece built to order by highly skilled Portuguese artisans. Moai console table is perfect for high-end interior design projects with a need for unique art pieces full of meaning. 2. Inspiration Monroe, the sexiest pin-up of the 1950s, inspired another piece of Art & Design. This piece was born from the Monroe floor lamp and its design captures the essence of Monroe's image and the sensuality of her legs. One hundred percent hand-worked with noble materials, the Monroe console is another piece that expresses a familiar story, bringing passionate memories. 3. Production process This console goes through a process known for thousands of years widely used in sculptures, especially brass and bronze, called gravity casting. After this process, the several brass pieces are sanded and welded. When the structure is completely welded it is polished by hand for hours until its shine is in perfect conditions. Finally, we apply the nickel over the brass which basically consists of turning the brass into a silvery tone. Electroless nickel plating is a materials processing method which is highly accurate. It is a technique for electroplating a thin layer of nickel onto a metallic object. The nickel layer can be decorative and provides also corrosion resistance. 4.
