Contemporary sculpted Aluminium Shave stool
About the Item
The SHAVE collection reflects the intention to use as few elements as possible to create functional furniture. In fact, only three oak planks are used. The technical assembly is rudimentary, with a long mortise and tenon joint providing sufficient support. An assembly of three pieces of wood to fulfil a simple function. At first glance, a single piece, the sculpting process reveals the wood and masks the joints. Hand-carved, the line vibrates in the light, becoming more refined on the edge of the furniture, revealing its archetypal design. The work of the hand is emphasised by the finesse of the line in search of its vibration. Light, fine and minimal, this piece has become the Atelier's signature.
