About the Item
Impressive Louis XV oak console table with Rance marble top. Period first half of the 18th century.
Rare and magnificent French Louis XV console table of the 18th century, made of oak wood, richly carved with a profusion of vine shoots and bunches of grapes that wrap around the arched legs joined by a crosspiece until they culminate on the heads of two smiling putti that, on either side, support the marble top. The opulence of the sculpture takes one's breath away; the sculptural quality, difficulty, and richness of the carving are reminiscent of the splendid consoles created by Jean-Bernard-Honoré Turreau.
The Rance marble top completes this little masterpiece.
