French Empire period petite mahogany console with mirror, circa 1810. Original French early Empire period petite mahogany console with back mirror. The console is characterized by a pair of tapered columns with wood carved and gilded classical female masks. The columns rest on a mahogany base supported by two carved gilt feet. The original mirror with oxidation and age spots is mounted to the back. The console is meticulously handcrafted by artisans with impeccable craftsmanship. The sumptuous mahogany and gilded decoration combined with classical architecture create a stately elegance. Condition: Very good overall antique condition. Mirror is heavily oxidized commensurate with age. Measurements: H 35.5” x W 22” x D 15” Weight: 28 lbs.
