Large console topped with a mirror in the oriental style, with carved wooden decoration, geometric marquetry of wood, mother-of-pearl and bone, mashrabiya, 3 Moorish arches, cartouches with inscription in Arabic This console is typical of the work of Giuseppe Parvis: large Italian cabinetmaker, he settled in Cairo in 1859 and he was inspired by all the elements of architecture and decor that he could see everywhere in Egypt to create his own style of Arabic furniture. He very quickly furnished the beautiful Egyptian residences, then thanks to its participation in Universal and International Exhibitions, conquer the European market.
