Italian 18th Century Louis XV Period Giltwood and Rose Phocéen Marble Console

About the Item

An exceptional Italian 18th century Louis XV period giltwood and Rose Phocéen marble console. The free standing console is raised by most elegant cabriole legs with hoof shaped feet, large scrolled acanthus leaf carvings and beautiful foliate designs. The arbalest shaped frieze displays a central large foliate reserve with richly carved scrolled leaves and a striking seashell with lovely finely detailed flowers set on a most decorative lattice pattern. Above is the original Rose Phocéen marble top. All original gilt throughout.
