Italian 18th Century Red Polychrome and Giltwood Roman Console

About the Item

A magnificent and unique Italian 18th century red polychrome and gilt wood Roman console. Raised on impressive elaborately scrolled legs ending in gilt feet, cabochons and borders, topped with giltwood masks. The legs are joined by an X curved stretcher with a central whimsical giltwood mask accented with a fan shaped design. The red polychrome frieze is accented with scrolled giltwood trim. All below the contoured molded edge original Breccia marble top. With all original polychrome and gilt throughout.
