Italian Early 19th Century Louis XV St. Giltwood and Faux Painted Marble Console

About the Item

An exceptional and large scale Italian early 19th century Louis XV st. giltwood and faux painted marble console. The freestanding console is raised by elegant impressive cabriole legs with fine hoof feet and connected by a most decorative scalloped shaped stretcher with beautiful mottled and foliate designs. Lovely vine like designs wraps around the top of each leg with a fine leaf leading to luxuriant scrolled movements extending along the frieze and along the sides. Above a most decorative mottled giltwood border is the wonderfully executed faux painted Verde Antico marble top. All original gilt throughout.
