Italian Late 18th Century Faux Painted Vert Doral Marble and Mecca Console

About the Item

An impressive and monumentally scaled Italian late 18th/early 19th century faux painted Vert Doral marble and mecca console, from Sicily. The freestanding console is raised by a fine mottled band below stunning scrolled supports adorned with beautiful large richly carved acanthus leaves and most decorative luxuriant foliate movements. The central back panel displays a wonderfully executed faux marble design with a fine mottled mecca frame. Above is the striking thick faux painted Vert Doral marble top with an impressive mottled mecca border. All original gilt, mecca and patina throughout.
