Matang Sedaine A two-tiers pear wood console, the upper shelf inlaid with pink marble, the sides decorated with Indigo dyed rope, the lower shelf made with pink marble, with Makrana marble keys, on four tapering feet. Contemporary production. Lead time : 8/9 weeks. Dimensions can be customizable. Price on request. Photos : Jeanne Perrotte Matang Matang is an architectural and furniture practice between Paris and Mumbai, created by Lucien Dumas. A practice exploring the relation between the different stones from Rajasthan with European wood. A relation between Indian temple sculptors, working with the same stones for decades, with a french contemporary carpentry. A process built around the natural materials from a territory, their expressions, the way they are meeting and the hands shaping them. As an interface, these sensitive objects express a skill, a culture, a relation to stone, wood, earth. By embodying the essence of a territory, these projects reveal the relation made by men and their environment.
