About the Item

Modern iron console table with smoked glass top by Marzio Cecchi for Hermès, Paris in the 1980s. The oval shaped console table consists of a very heavy, black lacquered iron body and bronish smoked oval glass top. The solid oval base expands to a wide spread oval frame, like a peacock tail. Fantastically light design with a heavy-duty finish. The object is bold and straightforward at the same time. You could also use the object as a desk, as the frame is flush on one side. Marzio Cecchi (1940-1990) was an Italian (Florence) Architect and Designer. He even succeeded in establishing some locations in Rome, Düsseldorf, Tokio, Sao Paulo, Los Angeles and New York at the end of the sixties. "Cecchi Design" means a combination of innovative creativity with elegance without disregarding the functionality.
