Modern Accent Console Table Ebony Macassar Wood Black Lacquer Brushed Brass
About the Item
The Mikado Collection is inspired by the game "Pick a Stick" we used to play in childhood. Tubes of thick brass, which remind us of the Mikado sticks game, are cut at precise angles and fitted with great accuracy in the furniture, providing much-needed support. Each tube can hold a flower, making this console table even more surprising and unique.
The Console Table is designed as an entryway table. Its form is light and fluid, with the tabletop appearing to float over the finely crafted legs. Many consider this piece a work of art, like a sculpture.
The listed piece is mastercrafted of carefully selected ebony macassar wood, black lacquered wood, and handmade brushed brass. However, we can also manufacture this table in customised options.
Structure: Stainless steel (polished or brushed); brass (polished or brushed); or copper (polished or brushed). The polished or brushed finish is handmade by the author.
Tabletop: Another kind of wood (walnut, tineo, black oak, ironwood) or lacquer colour.
Custom dimensions are only available after analysis.
In all its versions, the console houses two discrete drawers in a different wood veneer, which adds a surprising touch.
Needs simple assembly.

In 2018, it won a "Silver A' Design Award" in the "Furniture, Decorative Items, and Homeware Design" category.
This piece is entirely made in Portugal and manufactured artisanally. The author carefully executed or supervised every process step in a small workshop context.

Oh, my goodness! Just look at this fabulous modern console table. Or is it a credenza? No matter what you call it you must call it phenomenal. Comprised of a plexiglass clad construction with a stepped base in glossy black which has two openings that could be originally for speakers but here in the shop we have filled them with books. I could also see them showing off great objects’ d’art. The base is topped with a thick teal plexiglass clad top. The overall look is absolutely stunning! I can’t help thinking of Michael Graves’ designs...
