Neo Gothic Wrought Iron & Marble Console Table with Crest, France, circa 1850
About the Item
Exceptional and rare antique Neo Gothic wrought iron console table with family crest and original Rouge Royal marble top - riveted construction throughout - completely hand made - decorated with bunches of grapes (each grape individually hand hammered) and tooled scrolling vines and grape leaves - Gothic arches and tracery form the structure of the table - the feet adorned with acanthus leaves - hand chisel marks/cuts to the back of the marble top - unsigned - France - circa 1850.
Excellent antique condition - all original (including polychrome painted finish) - no loss - no damage - no restoration - minor scratches to the original marble top - minor rust with signs of age and use.
Size/dimensions - large - 54 3/4" (139 cm.) wide x 18" (46 cm.) deep x 35 1/4" (89.5 cm.) high.
