About the Item
Pair of elegant demilune console tables in the Louis XVI manner, each featuring a shaped marble top over a conforming case with two drawers. The mahogany-veneered oak frame features a mahogany veneer of fine marquetry inlay and cast gilt bronze mounts and hardware that include circular ring pulls and decorative foliate mounts. Raised on gracefully curved saber legs terminating in bronze sabots.
The gray marble tops show attractive white veining and retains good polish. Bronze mounts are cast rather than stamped, indicating quality construction. Drawers are fitted with period-appropriate brass hardware.
These pieces retain original labels, including "Made in France," confirming their European origin.
