Spectacular pair of original French Modern sculptural "U" shaped consoles in figured walnut with brass accents, raised on stepped pediment plinth ending with a moustache base, circa 1925.
The impressive Paquebot style, "U" or tulip shape is a graceful design element, typical of the Deco period.
The small and charming negative area created in the base center serves as a viewfinder which focuses our sight on the clean lines and simplicity of the form, thus offering the console a contrasting tone and floats the piece into its airy space. Another interesting design element is the bowed and stepped apron surround.
Each console stands at an impressive 37 1/2 inches tall, making it higher than most standard consoles. This elevated height ensures it stands out and displays beautifully in a lobby or entryway, and if placed in a dining room, it remains visible above the dining table—unlike lower consoles that can get lost behind furniture. Additionally, its height is ideal for comfortable serving, adding both style and practicality to your space.

High shine with some slight variance in color and tone ,old repairs under lacquer, flea bite light marks, imperfections, hairline small fissure on the top. All hardly discernible.
