About the Item
A most impressive pair of early 19th century Italian Baroque freestanding "D' shaped giltwood consoles. Each console is raised by three carved supports below a mottled bordered shelf. Above are exuberant scrolls and leaf design carvings. The pierced frieze has similar carved designs of scrolls and foliate while at the top is a sensational faux porphyry finish bordered by a mottled border.
