Wrought iron with 22-karat gold leaf finish entry centre console table with marble top by Raymond Subes biography: (French, 1893-1970) Subes is one of the most renowned French metalworker of the Art Deco period. He became director of the metal workshop Most of his work was on government commissions such as The Normandie. And other important Ocean liners of the period. Subes initially worked in wrought iron occasionally in bronze and copper. By the 1930s he was also working on aluminium and oxidized or lacquered steel.
