Source Console Table No.2 by A Space

About the Item

The source console table No.2 by A Space Dimensions: D 160 x W 80 x H 25 5cm Materials: Black tuff. Weight: 290 kg Inspired by antiquity, material, craftsmanship and architecture of Armenia, this collection consists of 12 limited edition objects, each hand-carved by local masters from three different types of volcanic tuff. A S P A C E is a New York-based design & art studio, co-founded by Anna Aristova and Roza Gazarian in 2016. Their collaborative pieces are an attempt to bring in the timeless beauty of nature to contemporary lifestyle, whether it’s functional furniture or a decorative object. The essence of each of their creations is a sense of a vast open space, where ideas, thoughts or feelings spontaneously arise, evolve through experimentation and ultimately manifest as a functional art piece. Each object is a one-of-a-kind creation that beckons to look beyond mere form and material, and to connect to the primordial nature of the elements. Their work is a constant balance of opposites -- improvisation and thoughtful planning, intuition and knowledge, organic and geometric, timelessness and impermanence.

Dripping Console Table No.2 Hallway Entry Table Stainless Steel Customizable
By Zhipeng Tan
Located in Beverly Hills, CA
The table is made in polished stainless steel and is customizable upon request. Lead time is 30-45 days for current design and up to 75 days for custom piece. The artist Zhipeng Tan is a self-taught sculptor with an Industrial Design degree from the China Academy of Art. His practice focuses on delivering his sculptural vision to a broader audience through art furniture. Most of Tan’s sculptures are characters in his imagery utopian world who are allowed to be childish, oversize, less than perfect without prejudice. Taking the abstract forms of water, plants, oversized insects, animals, skeletons as the base, Tan expends his ideas to create each figure. Inspired by Joan Miro, Henry Moore, Constantin Brancusi, Tan's sculptural forms are often organic, with a slightly surreal quality, while maintaining functionality. Most Tan's works are hand-sculpted in one to one scale in clay, then use multiple ways to archive the final work, including lost-wax casting, hammering. Tan’s practice continues to express his utopian world through his pieces; he is keen to lead the art furniture movement in China. Gallery All is the commissioning gallery of Tan Zhipeng...
