About the Item
Side table, tea table, coffee table, bistro table in the style of the Tilden table by Philip Tilden for Heal and Sons for Inston Churchill.
This Art Deco period table is very designer and decorative.
This attractive table is in oak on Tuscan style double column end posts, joined by a flat stretcher, on console legs. This distinctive cross-beam base provides structure and stability that respects the wood's desire to move subtly over time.

This table is a bistro size replica of the Tilden table which is a refectory table.
Indeed in 1922, Heal & Sons asked the architect and staunch traditionalist Philip Tilden to develop a table for Winston Churchill for his house in Chartwell. Churchill wanted a refectory table, which would facilitate conversations.
This is how the Tilden table was born.
