This striking console table is a magnificent expression of Art Deco Revival, utilizing bold geometry and dramatic material contrast characteristic of high-style 1980s design. The base features a tiered black plinth supporting two vertical end supports clad in highly contrasting tessellated stone. The black sections are likely black marble or lacquer, while the U-shaped forms are sheathed in pale bone or stone tiles, creating a sophisticated black-and-white motif. The entire structure is capped with a long, rectangular glass top that visually floats above the imposing base.
The sleek, clean lines and theatrical proportions of this table make it an ideal focal point for an entryway, a spacious living area, or a glamorous hallway. Measuring 47.25 inches wide, 15.5 inches deep, and 28.75 inches tall, it offers ample display surface. The console is in great vintage condition; the tessellated and lacquered surfaces exhibit a rich, glossy patina appropriate to age.
