Distinctive late 19th century demi-lune console table featuring a flip-top metamorphic design that converts to a round center table, games table, or breakfast table. The Georgian design is accented by neoclassical style inlay of satinwood. The frieze is decorated with radiant mahogany veneer centered in the front by a Greco-Roman style urn. The elegant legs are decorated with bellflower and thread inlay. The table opens to a round shape with a 36.25 inch diameter. The apron measures nearly 25 inches from the floor. Sturdy construction with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The flip top is supported by a swinging gate leg. Lovely aged patina and handsome profile on this versatile table.
