Austrian Josef Danhauser Style Biedermeier Walnut Writing Desk



The design of this Biedermeier walnut desk shows the influence of Austrian furniture designer Josef Danhauser (1780-1829), the most prominent furniture designer of the time. The desk dates to circa 1830 and features a shaped figured walnut top above a frieze drawer and resting on carved double column pedestals connected by a long turned stretcher and joined by the carved bases.
