About the Item

Cylindrical desk with blinds,, made of veneered wood with a bronze rim on the top, bronze details with flowers on the frame and medallions. The central frieze and drawer feature satyrs carrying a drunken Bacchus surrounded by garlands tied with ribbons and bronze sabots. All details have the original period mercury gold plating. Made by Francois Linke (1855-1946). France, CIRCA 1890.
