About the Item

An exceptional early production model of Peter Løvig Nielsen’s iconic Danish teak executive desk, date-stamped 16 March 1961. Designed during the golden era of Scandinavian modernism, this freestanding model reflects Løvig’s mastery in combining sculptural form with deliberate, functional intent. Crafted in richly figured teak, it features Løvig’s signature raised lip edge, sculpted drawer handles, and two banks of drawers — including two lockable top drawers. The rear showcases an integrated bookcase with open storage bays, making the desk equally striking from all angles — ideal for freestanding placement. Authenticated by its original “Made in Danmark” date stamp and Løvig maker’s sticker, this is a well-preserved example from the brand’s early 1960s production. A standout piece of Danish modern design - part of the growing appreciation for Løvig’s craftsmanship.
