Early 19th Century Ebonised Pedestal Desk

About the Item

This small 19th-century ebonised mahogany pedestal desk is a delightful blend of practicality and elegance. Its rich colour and patina, combined with the exquisite golden orange tooled leather top, create a truly captivating piece. The desk features nine graduated drawers on one side, each oak-lined and fitted with original brass swan-neck handles—a testament to the quality of its craftsmanship. The tooled leather inset, framed by a reeded moulded edge, adds a touch of luxury and functionality. The desk's design, with its two pedestals resting on a plinth base with castors, ensures both stability and ease of movement. The fact that it breaks down into three pieces for easy transport adds to its practicality. England c.1820. DIMENSIONS Height 75.5cm (29.7in) Width 122cm (48.0in) Depth 68cm (26.8in)
