About the Item
A stunning Edwardian well figured mahogany cylinder desk, finely carved and of exceptional quality, beautifully inlaid throughout with rich patination and fine grain. The moulded inlaid top of rectangular form with shaped back gallery rail and reeded border edge is raised over a cylinder roll top with decorative finely cast brass pull and inlay detail. The cylinder top rolls upwards to reveal a fitted interior with an arrangement of compartments comprising of small drawers and pigeon holes above a fabulous pull out writing slide with brass pulls and which is fitted with a gorgeous black gilt embossed tooled leather writing skiver surface. Raised over an inlaid two drawer frieze with brass pulls, supported on elegantly tapering square leg terminating on brass and ceramic casters.
