Fine French Bureau Plat in Tulipwood & Purple-Heart, c. 1840
About the Item
The top mounted with a tooled gilt leather surface, and bordered by six layers of banding in tulipwood, boxwood, purple-heart, and finally a rounded brass edge.
The frieze is composed of three sliding drawers in the same woods, the reverse featuring false fronts, and each corner with a brass accent over the tapered square leg, each finely veneered and ending in a brass cap.
